HICKS’ MINISTRY REPORT
March 2007
We began the month of March with a prayer meeting with brother Russ Epley at his home. Russ is making steady progress coming back from a major stroke. Please continue to remember this TEAM missionary and his wife Flossie, who have stood firm against this attack upon Russ. In spite of this big mountain that has appeared in the Epley’s lives, their joy and passion for the Lord and His work in Japan has not diminished even a little.
Neal was able to successfully pick up his visa for visiting China on March 8th.
On March 12th Neal attended a follow-up meeting with JEMA leaders on the issues with the JEA pastors. One JEA leader was invited to attend, which he did. We are trying to find ways to address these crucial issues that impact the Church in Japan.
March 13th, Neal launched the first Western Style Cooking Class at Kawagoe Church. Neal taught three ladies and two men how to make meatloaf, scalloped corn, and apple crisp. Everyone just loved it… and they said they really liked the talk I gave. As a result, one woman came to church just this past Sunday morning and said she enjoyed the message.
On March 14th, Neal traveled to the area of Machida, to minister to the son of one of his missionary friends. God gave a powerful anointing for that appointed time. Some days later Neal saw the young man’s father and mother, and they both reported that their son has made some real and positive progress since the prayer time together.
March 15th, Neal attended a “Coaching” seminar near the campus of the Christian Academy. It was a great time to share goals and the need for accountability.
March 18th Neal preached the second of two messages on “The Blessing of God.”
On March 24th Neal & Mari conducted their monthly VIP Bible Study in their home. One woman, Mrs. Miyamoto shared her testimony how she was healed of cancer when we prayed over her in a previous meeting. We have seen several people healed in our Bible Studies, as the Word of Truth is presented, and as Japanese learn to release their faith in the healing promises of God.
March 25th was Family Worship Sunday at Kawagoe Church. Several youth lead the worship service in song and praise to our mighty God.
On March 26th Neal & Mari attended their monthly Prayer Ensemble. We had a great time in the Word of God, praise in music and song, as Dr. Bohman led in his final teaching on the Book of Revelation. Everyone has been greatly blessed with his anointed teaching.
We close the end of March with our departure to Beijing, China. Thank you for your prayers as we meet together with the Mission Society Asian Field Teams, and those staff from headquarters. Thank you as well for your prayers enabling us to get the “books” in undetected.
